Neuport-28 Electric Bipe

The Green RC Electric Nieuport 28 is one of the nicest looking WWI biplane ARFs currently available that is big in scale features but low in price.

With a 33-inch wingspan, the Nieuport 28 is big enough to allow for some scale features that just aren't available on smaller-sized models, such as the intricate, pre-assembled landing gear struts, but the size isn't so big that it can't fit into the back of your compact car without disassembling the wings.

Although the manufacturer has done a great job in building and covering the all-balsa airframe, final assembly requires an intermediate-level of modeling experience. An experienced modeler could see easier or better ways of completing the assembly than what is described in the instructions.

The model was designed for any of the small, light-weight, and powerful outrunner brushless motors turning an 8- to 10-inch slowfly prop. We recommend a direct-drive outrunner brushless motor like the AXI 22/930 swinging an APC 10x4.7SF prop with a 3-cell 1320mAh battery pack.

For the Nieuport that we put together here at the shop, the 2 ounce Torque 22/930 outrunner on a 3-cell 1320 mAh LiPo was ideal. If you use a motor/battery combination that's too light, you will most likely have to add weight to the nose to get the model to balance.
