Do you just hate soldering?

Do you find it hard to keep everything in order and do you just not have enough hands to hold everything when trying to solder small connectors. Would you like to make the task of soldering connectors simple and easy? If so, this tool is just the right addition to your shop.

The Jigs Up jig quickly and securely clamps, holds, and releases these connectors for your soldering tasks.

This is a must for every tool box or work bench.

Description of “The Jigs Up”

The holes on top of the jig are used to hold 3.5mm, 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm and 6.5 mm bullet connectors. Note: The alligator clips are a fairly tight hand-pressed fit into the two holes that are in the back side of the jig.

The “v” slots on the front of the jig is used to hold the 2mm bullet connectors and the pins for the Traxxas connectors.

The slot on the right side of the jig is used for a XT60 connector, Traxxas and the Deans T connectors.

The slot on the left side of the jig is used for Deans 2-pin, 3-pin, and 4-pin micro connectors.

Instructions for “The Jigs Up”
  1. Take precautions. Always wear eye protection while soldering.

  2. The video clip on the website will show us soldering a Deans T Connector, a 3.5mm bullet connector, and a 2mm bullet connector. The video shows our earlier model but the soldering techniques are the same for the newer, even more versatile Jigs Up.

  3. This is essential: make sure that your soldering iron is HOT and clean! To clean the hot iron's tip, wipe the tip on a damp sponge to remove the crud that forms on the tip during soldering.

  4. We recommend that you tin both the wire and the connector pin to be soldered with a liberal amount of solder. (Note: The Jigs Up can also be placed on top of the wire to hold it in place while you tin the wire)

  5. Now place the wire on top of the connector pin and place the “hot” soldering tip on top of the wire until the solder melts.

  6. Then take the soldering tip away from the wire and hold the wire in place for a few seconds until the solder cools.

  7. This will give you a good connection!

Descriptive text: I made a very similar jig from a block of Mica several years ago. Until then, I'd had more burned fingers, and poor soldered joints than I can accurately count. Now I can keep a full covering of skin on my hands, and I never have to spend time re-soldering "cold connections" I guarantee you'll bless the day you bought this.
