Overview:
Supermarine’s line of single-seat Spitfire aircraft were extremely popular with Royal Air Force pilots during World War II. Spitfires were very fast, maneuverable fighters that Supermarine continued to produce in quantity well after the war was over. The Mk.II version began serving in the winter of 1940, relegating the Mk.I’s to trainer duty.
Hangar 9® introduces its .60-size model of the venerable British fighter. The Spitfire Mk.II 60 ARF offers realistic scale detail, such as full-function split flaps and a period-accurate UltraCote trim scheme, that is certain to make this warbird a favorite at the flying field.
The Spitfire Mk.II 60 ARF is part of Hangar 9’s complete line of top-quality aircraft and accessories. Our trainer, performance and scale airplanes are engineered and crafted to exacting standards and feature the finest components and materials, such as our exclusive UltraCote® covering. Just as important, with every Hangar 9® product, you’ll get the service and technical support you need to succeed.

Assembly Tips:
Section 3: Retract Installation
Step 4:
I found that the 1" arm as specified in the manual gives too much throw to properly actuate the flaps. I used a JR wheel with holes 13/16" apart instead of the 1" as stated. To find the length of arm necessary, mark the position of one of the pushrods with the retract locked one direction all the way. Then move the pushrod and lock the retract in the oposite position, and note the distance the pushrod moved from lock to lock. This distance from lock to lock is equal to the servo arm length required. It may take some adjustment as the manual mentions to get the proper set up. Be sure that your retracts fully lock in each position for proper operation.
Section 5: Engine Installation
Step 6:
It may be necessary to trim the fuel tank support slightly by adding 2 notches where the support contacts the former behind it to allow the fuel tank support to be moved further back, as it may not fit behind the tank without them. The notches that were added to this kit were roughly 1/8" deep and were the width of the former on each side.
