From the Desk of... The Chief Pilot
We originally launched in 1978 as Whitney's Glider Supply and have been in the aviation business for over 30 years with our company taking on many forms over those years. As AtlantaHobby.com we are blessed to be located in a very rural area about 35 miles NW of Atlanta, Georgia and are fortunate to have two locations, one 70 acre facility at what we call Stoney Point and one for flying and testing new products and one for our retail storefront and mail-order shipping services (we can fly at the store too).
Our owner is Cliff Whitney. Cliff started this business part time while still in high school and working for a new but growing photo retail company. He is well known in the photo and retail world and has been called a visionary by internet and retail industry executives. He is recognized as an eCommerce industry innovator who helped to design and create the world's first on-line photo storage and sharing systems back in the early 90's. These systems are now owned by Eastman Kodak as "O photo" and also known as AOL's "You've Got Pictures". Cliff has been a guest lecturer at universities and large corporations all over the world, has served as a guest columnist in over 11 national magazines. Mr Whitney is a sought after retail and internet consultant working with some of the nations lagest retailers.
AtlantaHobby.com's mission is to inovate and deliver quality products, allowing families to spend time together while enjoying aviation toys. Cliff has established the industries best reputation and has several other subsidiary companies.
