The Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece stands out as an indispensable accessory for high-performance astronomical observing. Built with dense, high refractive index optical glass elements and enhanced multilayer deposition (EMD) coatings, this 40mm wide field eyepiece maximizes light transmission while maintaining true color rendering across the entire field. Its sealed argon-purged waterproof chassis insulates optics from internal fogging, dust, moisture, and fungus growth, ensuring pristine performance through severe environmental temperature changes. Featuring a generous 31mm eye relief and a soft foldable silicone rubber eyecup, visual observers—including those who wear eyeglasses—can enjoy hours of comfortable stargazing at the visual limit of their telescope setup.
Is the Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece suitable for eyeglass wearers?
Yes, with a generous 31mm eye relief and a flexible foldable soft silicone rubber eyecup, the Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece allows observers wearing glasses to view the entire 68° field comfortable.
What telescopes are compatible with the Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece?
The Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece utilizes a standard 2.00" barrel format, making it compatible with any telescope equipped with a 2-inch focuser or 2-inch star diagonal.
Why is Argon purging better than Nitrogen for the Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece?
Argon atoms are larger and chemically more inert than Nitrogen atoms. This keeps seals intact longer, slows heat transfer during temperature changes, and guarantees internal fog-free, fungus-resistant optical performance for your Explore Scientific 68° Series 40mm Waterproof Eyepiece.
