Guillow's North American P-51D Mustang Balsa Model Airplane Kit, 17" Wingspan (GUI905)
In Stock
The Guillow's North American P-51D Mustang is a classic stick-and-tissue balsa kit of the most famous American fighter of World War II. With a 17-inch (432 mm) wingspan at approximately 1/25 scale, it builds into a rubber-powered flying model or a handsome display piece for your shelf.
This Guillow's 900-series kit uses precision-cut balsa parts built over full-size plans, then covered in tissue for a light, strong airframe. Formed plastic parts provide the propeller, spinner and wheels, and a clear plastic bubble canopy, wire landing gear and decals complete the classic Mustang look. A rubber motor powers the propeller for free-flight sessions in a park or gym. Building takes patience and basic modeling skills, making it a great project for teens and adults learning traditional aircraft construction. Cement or white glue, a hobby knife, pins and dope for the tissue covering are required and sold separately.
